Beyond Breathing

Description for Beyond Breathing

Review 5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent read!May 8, 2017Verified PurchaseMargarete recently spoke at my company and highlighted aspects of her book. I work for a company that does research for CF and other rare diseases. I am not a scientist but stories like this are what motivate me to go to work. I was touched by Margarete and her willingness to do what she does after such sorrow and loss. The penny story is worth the read. Be prepared to shed a few tears while you read this story of a telling mothers joy, loss, triumph and her belief Jena is always with her and in some ways all of us.Judy5.0 out of 5 starsInspiring!June 27, 2014Verified PurchaseIf one has never been touched personally by Cystic Fibrosis, Beyond Breathing will take the reader on an exhaustive journey through the diagnosis, treatment and sadly the untimely death of one so young. Ms. Cassalina is an amazingly articulate writer who is capable of relaying to the reader the despair felt by a parent of a child with this disease, in her case, both her children. Ultimately, the reader will gain insight as to how Margarete, Marc & Eric have become some of the fiercest, strongest and most devoted fighters against this disease. One will never view life's trivial annoyances in the same light after completing this book. My personal suggestion to the reader is to block out some uninterrupted time, you won't want to put it down and read with a full box of Kleenex close by!JD5.0 out of 5 starsA Must Read!April 17, 2015Verified PurchaseThis book is a must read! To tell her how much joy she's brought me. To tell herhow much I love her.Ihad ten minutes.Itold her all those things. I told her that if I could be just a fraction of theperson she was, I would be the most incredible person ever. I told her that ifI could bring half of the smiles and laughter she did I would be honored tostand in her shadow the rest of my life. I cried. I couldn't stop crying.
